How to Prepare for Your Christmas Mini

A few simple tips to help you make the most of your session and keep things stress-free.

Arrive on Time
Sessions are booked back-to-back with a short 15-minute buffer in between. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can start right on time. It helps ensure you get your full session and keeps the day running smoothly for everyone.

What to Wear
By popular demand, this year’s set features a lighter, cozy backdrop—perfect for deeper holiday tones like red, green, or burgundy. These colors really stand out beautifully. If you prefer a softer look, complementary tones work great too. The goal is to feel comfortable and coordinated while fitting the festive mood.

If You’re Bringing Kids
Little ones can sometimes get restless, so feel free to bring along a favorite toy, snack, or iPad to keep them happy between shots. For newborns, it’s often best if they’re asleep during the session—so plan feedings and naps accordingly if you can.

If You’re Bringing Pets
Pets are absolutely welcome! I’ll have water bowls ready, and there’s plenty of space outside the studio for a quick walk or bathroom break before or after the session.

Outfit Changes & Restroom
Outfit changes are completely fine if you’d like a few different looks. A restroom is available on-site for quick changes or touch-ups.

Props
I’ll have a few classic props on hand—like wrapped gifts, cozy blankets, and mugs—but you’re welcome to bring any personal items or props that make your photos feel more “you.”

Most Important
Come ready to relax and have fun. These sessions are short and sweet, designed to capture genuine smiles, cozy moments, and that warm holiday spirit.

FAQ

  • I converted my garage into a fun studio! I am in Lake Forest, very close to Irvine Spectrum Center!

  • The shoot runs 45 minuted - 1 hour. I typically use the first 30 minutes to photograph and the rest to edit! So you can leave the shoot with photos ready and purchase prints if needed.

  • Photos can be edited instantly the day of or can be sent over for selection and edits, that process takes a week.

  • 2-4 is an ideal spot to be at for the set design this year.

  • The deposit in non refundable, I am usually flexible and understanding but being confident in your booking is always a good idea :)
